By applying a unique (and even secret) camera technique art photographer Line Hjorth unfolds a dreamy and almost surreal world in her series ‘A DIFFERENT PLACE’. The twelve motives meet us like fragments of lost stories.

At first it seems as if the desaturated motives are from the Polaroid photo era of the 60’s and 70’s – faded in colours after 40 years in the attic. Or shaken mistakes on a Kodak film roll from one of the many cheap pocket cameras of the 80’s and 90’s. But a closer look reveals that they are neither Polaroid photos or shaken Kodaks.

The twelve motives truly are from ‘A DIFFERENT PLACE’ as the series title points out. They are all ordinary motives captured by a camera – a cat, a woman, a young boy, a house etc., but somehow they don’t seem to be of this world. A dark halo surrounds them all as if we are looking into a magical mist that allow us to encounter something rare – something both fantastic and scary: a glimpse of a place beyond time and logic. The alien place of lost memories and dreamt dreams from our childhood. Places where both fairytales and nightmares are born.

By removing all context and sense of logic Line Hjorth manages to create a number of scenes with no storyline and no fix points. This leaves the spectator with nothing but self- induced emotion and imagination - which turns out to be a brilliant idea since the ARTSPOIL concept is all about creating your own story with art. Line Hjorth simply hands us twelve scenes from which we ourselves can create our own stories, dreams or fairytales on the wall.

You have 30 calendar days to return a spoiler/loader/clips from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return the product must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. The spoiler/loader/clips must be in the original packaging and the product needs to have the proof of purchase.

 

Once ARTSPOIL receive your return, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your spoiler/loader/clips. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the product.

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.

 

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non­refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
